You Can’t Fix Stupid …
A Guest Article
By Lucy
Hey everyone, Lucy here … a little older and wiser than the last time
that I conversed with ya’ll!
I just wanted to share a little bit of wisdom today! Dad
came home tonight as always, pulled up to the shop, let me out of my
pen, and then got himself an adult beverage – I think that he calls them
“frosties”! He pulled up a chair, sat down, and he looked
like he didn’t know whether to wind his rear end or scratch his watch! Not
like him at all since we usually go feed and I get to ride in the mule.
I vaguely remember this time last year, because of my limited age, but
it seems like he went through this same sort of slump around this time. Seems
around this time of year, especially working at the John Deere House,
would be great. With all these lawn mowing people and
weekend warriors coming in to get parts and such for their yellow and
green equipment that they buy from dad’s colleagues … you know “the one
that they bought there?”!!! Well, according to dad, this
time of year is very trying on him and the family because of all the
wealth of knowledge that he has to absorb on a daily basis. I
thought that he was gonna wear that door out on the refrigerator!!
I guess the wisdom that I derived from dad tonight is that just because
it’s green and yellow, you bought it from one of his colleagues, the
serial number is in his computer, and if it is working properly … you
can’t fix stupid!
So please, DO have your model and serial number when you come see him …
it makes my ride in the evenings happen a lot sooner and last longer.
I hope everyone has a great summer and makes lots of memories –
remember, none of us are getting any younger. Live each
day as if it’s your last, and tell someone that you Love them.
Maybe this summer when we go west – me and my cousins can do a joint
article, that would be so cool! Well, until the next time
– stay safe!

Laughter and
tears are both responses to frustration and exhaustion. I myself prefer
to laugh, since there is less cleaning up to do afterward.

Even if there
is nothing to laugh about, laugh on credit.

Leisure time
should be an occasion for deep purpose to throb and for ideas to

he has forfeited a bit of happiness.

No matter how
much pressure you feel at work, if you could find ways to relax for at
least five minutes every hour, you'd be more productive.

EDITOR’S NOTE: Thanks for your second article Lucy (you can re-read her first article HERE)! Words of wisdom. Our dad said that he texted your dad Monday with a confirmation for a part number on another friends mower – he said that he gave him the model number, but not the serial number … hope he didn’t add to your dad’s frustration!! : ) |
