The Border Collie Chronicles Observations from (arguably) the World's Smartest Dogs; (but, without question, the bestest friends!) or, Life As We Understand It, as told from dad's shop. |

Bad Example By Annie All of you should
know by now (or by experience) that we BC’s
allow dad to listen to
music while we all hang out in the shop in the evenings … and he
likes to find the some of the more “funky” and non-traditional sorts
of music to listen to – you know, stuff that isn’t on the radio!
(Actually, most of it is really pretty cerebral[i],
AND it generally has a
pretty good beat too!). Unfortunately,
since the Napster days and WinMX days are well past us (sigh) … new
(or OLD) music is becoming much harder for dad to obtain (and he
FINALLY has a fast enough internet connection to actually do
something about it[ii]!!)
… for free! Anyway, he
does listen and look for new “stuff” on YouTube periodically and
downloads some new tunes from Amazon occasionally (even though this
costs money) - the other day and we were all listening to some
“first hearings” together and he played one song that I immediately
connected with! My
sisters, Mom, and brother all looked toward me when this song played
… not sure what they were trying to say … sure, the melody was
pretty snappy … but why did they all look at me????
I even saw dad glance my way (and when he had mom-D come out
to listen to it, she looked at me too … and laughed!!!!) Anyway … I think that I mostly connected to
the song due to the fact that the band’s name and my name share a
small similarity! Here
are the full lyrics … What Do You THINK!!!!!

“Somebody had to set a
bad example
Swanky big brick houses
don’t amuse me
Somebody had to set a
bad example
All the girls that I
grew up with went to college
Somebody had to set a
bad example
What the hell, that’s what I was born to do”[iii]
Well … I’m not too sure of what to think
of this! Do you think
that they are trying to tell me something?
Dad did make that statement about me in The
2013 Christmas Article
